A Textpattern Tag is a shorthand method for calling functions defined inside Textpattern. The tags themselves are incorporated in page templates or forms, and are replaced with the output they call as users visit a page in your site. Much like XHTML tags, Textpattern tags are either Single Tags or Container Tags, and you will see many examples of each as you explore this appendix.
